Edificata poco prima del 1817, la Chiesa del Purgatorio è un esempio di devozione popolare. Fondata grazie al contributo di D. Luigi Salamone, la chiesa fu dedicata alle anime del Purgatorio, un tema caro alla tradizione religiosa del territorio. Tra le sue meraviglie spicca una statua dell’Addolorata, realizzata dalla casa Zanazio di Roma, che partecipa alla suggestiva processione del Venerdì Santo. Un luogo di grande spiritualità, dove i fedeli si riuniscono per pregare e riflettere sul mistero della morte e della resurrezione.

Built just before 1817, the Church of the Purgatory is an example of popular devotion. Founded with the contribution of D. Luigi Salamone, the church was dedicated to the souls in Purgatory, a theme dear to the religious tradition of the area. Among its treasures is a statue of the Addolorata, created by the Zanazio company in Rome, which takes part in the evocative Good Friday procession. It is a place of great spirituality, where the faithful gather to pray and reflect on the mystery of death and resurrection.
